Tooth protection

The mouthguard

Ask us if your child should wear a mouthguard depending on the sports they practise. The mouthguard is a protector from injury of the mouth and teeth. It acts as padding and prevents jaw fractures, neck injuries and concussions.

Your dentist can manufacture what is called a custom mouthguard, perfectly fitted to your child’s mouth. Two other types are also available on the market: those that form to the mouth and those mass produced. Your dentist can explain the differences of cost, comfort and protection level for your child.

By encouraging your child to wear a mouthguard, you provide them with the safety they need. Think of it as the same thing as wearing a seatbelt or a bike helmet!
